Once upon a time, there was a girl named Auburnlocks. Auburnlocks used to move around a lot because of her mom’s job. Because of this Auburnlocks was always the new kid at schools. Auburnlocks had been to many different schools in the 12 years of her life. One time when she was seven-years-old she went to a school which didn’t have any uniforms or dress codes. The kids at that school behaved very badly. They yelled and screamed when teachers tried to get their attention. Auburnlocks moaned and groaned as her classmates drove her wild. she felt like she didn’t fit in at all. Sometimes no one except for Auburnlocks and a few other students would turn up to class. Her class didn’t get any work done and Auburnlocks felt like she wasn’t learning anything. Auburnlocks didn’t even feel safe because there was so much violence at her school. One day Auburnlocks was bullied because she was wearing something that another girl didn’t like. That day Auburnlocks went home and cried.

“This school is too wild,” Auburnlocks cried to her mom.

Her mom said not to worry because they were moving to another place soon. Auburnlocks was thrilled and she immediately started packing. A few days later Auburnlocks was ready for another first day of school. She was looking forward to a fresh start. When she entered the school she was blinded by the whiteness of the children’s teeth. The girls were wearing fancy dresses that looked like they cost thousands of dollars. Their hair was curled and looked very pretty. Their shoes were shiny and there was not a speck of dust on them. Auburnlocks felt plain and ugly in her jeans and shirt. Nobody had informed her of this weird dress code at this school. The other kids whispered and Auburnlocks knew they were whispering about her. One girl even had the nerve to point at her and laugh. In class, all the kids were perfect. They sat up straight at all times and smiled at the teacher. Auburlocks’s backside was so sore after trying to mimic the other students. Auburnlocks wondered if she could ever be so prim and proper. At lunchtime, no one wanted to sit by Auburnlocks because of her clothing. The next day Auburnlocks got up extra early to get ready for school. She wore her best dress and curled her hair to perfection. She wore her best shoes and tried to make them look shiny. She would finally fit in. Right? Oh boy was she was wrong. That day at school everyone snickered at the new girl with the cheap dress. Auburnlocks was dejected. Her back was sore from sitting up so tall. Her mouth hurt from smiling so much. Her body itched from the uncomfortable dress. Her feet hurt because of the tight shoes. How were the other students so…. perfect? Auburnlocks was bullied by her classmates and she just couldn’t take it anymore. That day Auburnlocks went home and cried.

“This school is too fancy” She cried to her mom.

Her mom told her not to worry because once again they were moving somewhere else. Auburnlocks was happy but also a little scared that she would be bullied again. The new school required a uniform so Auburnlocks changed into her uniform in the morning. The uniform felt snug and comfortable. Maybe this was a sign that this school wouldn’t be too bad. Auburnlocks asked her mom to drive her to school and her mom agreed. When they arrived at the school, Auburnlocks got out of the car and started walking to the entrance.

When she went inside the school the students shouted, “Welcome Auburnlocks”.

Auburnlocks was surprised because she had never received this kind of treatment at her other schools. Everybody was wearing nice uniforms and they looked smart and disciplined. Throughout the day, Auburnlocks discovered that the students at this school were wild but not too wild like the ones at her first school. She also discovered that students at this school were disciplined but not too disciplined like the ones at her second school. People actually attended class and slouching in your seat sometimes was allowed. Auburnlocks felt like she was on a team and she felt as if the students in the school were her family. No one bullied her about her clothing because everyone wore the same clothes. Auburnlocks felt safe because there was no violence at this school. The teachers were also very kind and helpful. At lunchtime, lots of people wanted to sit by Auburnlocks. Auburnlocks met a new friend, Goldilocks on just her first day. The two girls had a lot in common and they felt an instant connection to each other. They soon became best friends. When Auburnlocks came home that day, her mom looked up at her with a worried expression.

“Mom, this school is just right”

Auburnlocks ran to her mom and hugged her. Her mom hugged her back and told her that she got a permanent job here so they would be staying here for a while. Auburnlocks learned that uniforms can go a long way and she finally got her happily ever after.
